What is ASAP?
The West St. Francois County 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) or After School Academic Achievement Program (ASAP), provides academic enrichment with emphasis in STEM (science, technology, engineering math), tutoring, physical fitness, character education, art, music, recreation, technology, homework assistance, mentoring and community learning service opportunities during non-school hours for all students at four locations. We serve students and the Elementary, Middle School, High School and Rocky Creek Youth Ranch.
The program helps students meet state standards in reading, math, science and social studies. It offers a broad array of activities that complement regular school day curriculum. An 18 day summer program is also provided. Programs also help working parents by providing a safe learning environment for their children.
CPR/AED certification and workshops, for the parents of program attendees, are offered at each site throughout the year. The elementary offers monthly Family Fun Nights.
